A local cattle rancher and a former
businessman, Don began his 2nd career
as an artist fairly recently.  In 2004, Don
took art classes at the University of New
Mexico in Taos and was hooked.  Inspired
by details of ordinary life, Don likes to paint
images that reveal emotion and expression.
Working from both live models and from
   photographs, Don captures the inner
thoughts and feelings of his subjects, and
strives to find the beauty in everyday things.

Don is involved in a number of community
   and charitable activities, including the
Nocona Museum of Culture & History and
the Montague County Child Welfare Board.

Don is a member of the Chisholm Trail Art Association (CTAA), the Gainesville Area Visual Art Club (GAVA), and the Wichita Falls Art Association (WFAA), and is acting President of the Montague Institute of Art.

Don's paintings can be found gracing the walls of several businesses in Montague County as well as in private homes throughout north Texas; he continues to hone is artistic skills and continue his art education by attending a number of painting and sculpture workshops throughout the U.S.
